Since Garth Brooks's divorce from his wife of 14 years,
Sandy, the superstar says he has had to make a whole new life
for himself as a single dad. The singer splits his time between
Nashville and Oklahoma, where his three young daughters now
reside.
Brooks is loving life with his kids, who have taken top priority
over his successful career. Brooks shocked fans and the industry
more than a year ago when he announced his retirement in order
to spent time with daughters Taylor, August, and Allie.
While the adjustment has taken a toll on Brooks's career,
he says it's all for a reason, as he tells LAUNCH. "This
year I've learned how to cook and I've learned how to do fun
things, how to make crafts, to be sure to look for shows like
circuses and stuff coming through town, and their mother is
very great at pointing those things out for me and helping
me along and just stuff like that, so maybe this is why it
did happen--for me to finally accept the responsibilities
of being a father," he said.
Brooks's current single, "Squeeze Me In," a duet
with Trisha Yearwood, holds the Number 17 spot on the Billboard
Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. |
