Garth Brooks 's current and reportedly final album, Scarecrow,
includes a duet with his favorite female collaborator, Trisha
Yearwood . The two recorded their version of Delbert McClinton
's "Squeeze Me In," which is currently climbing
the country charts.
Brooks says he is delighted with the song, in particular
Yearwood's portion of it. "I can only tell you that the
duet on this album Ms. Yearwood herself was quoted as saying
'It's the best thing we've ever done together.' I'm very proud
of this. It's something very out of the ordinary for us, and
it's something very much out of the ordinary for her. If anybody
knows Yearwood, she's very quick-witted and she's very sharp
and she can burn you like that and smile the whole time she's
doing it and be very sweet about it, but she's sharp. Well,
this is a record that finally brings that out in her,"
he tells LAUNCH. "She gets her hands on her hips and
gets very attitudinal and gets very sassy. It's very, very
fun."
"Squeeze Me In" holds the Number 39 spot on the
Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. |
